The Rise and Fall of Henry Barnes - Horse Dealer, with David Snow

Henry Barnes, an illiterate son of Andover, started his business with nothing and grew it inside 20 years to a stud of some 300 horses worth in today’s money > £2m.  His activities touched on many Andover locations as well as the Weyhill Fair, he travelled the country widely and had many titled customers.He took the London & South Western Railway to court in what was probably Andover’s biggest civil court case, but his career there ended in mysterious circumstances …
